Well now you can print your favorite ones, make calendars, books, or even better, you can make digital layouts!! you have never done one? no problem! I just found this incredible designer, photographer and blogger called Liz , she makes the most beautiful minimalistic designs, and she makes something called quick pages. Better yet, she has a full tutorial on how to use them and she has a few freebies on Oscraps.com
I made this quick page using one of her beautiful designs. All I had to do was drag and drop. And now it's ready to print!

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I made a compilation of tips that I found online and some of my own tips on: how to keep your files organized on your computer.

And remember: Organization is the key to your success.

1. Don't store everything on your desktop. This is a big mistake that a lot of people make. Many people don't even actually know that there are alternative places to save their files, or they are worried they won't be able to find the files again when they need them. You can have a special folder for all your pictures inside your computer or you can get an external hard drive, which also serves as a backup in case your computer gets toasted.

2. Begin to save documents in your "My Documents" folder. This is a place is meant, obviously, for you to save your documents in. Using your "My Documents" will free up space on your desktop, and it will also allow your computer to run faster as it is really not meant to save all those files on your desktop.

3. Create sub-folders in your "My Documents" folder. I have a folder only for pictures and inside I have subfolders for each year. Inside each year I have 12 folders; one for each month. That way every time I take digital pictures and I want to transfer them to my computer I go directly to the month they belong and dump them all there. When I have time I can go through them and pick the ones I like the most but for the meantime they are all organized in specific folders, that way I don’t have to be looking for, lets say, a Christmas picture somewhere in a place with hundreds of other stuff. I know I will find it in the year and month I want.

4. Practice saving some test documents into your newly created folders. After saving some test documents, attempt to close out of them and then locate your folder again, and open the documents back up. That way you get familiar with the way this works and you’ll know where everything is.

5. Now begin to implement your changes and transfer any files already saved in various places into your folders. You will probably be surprised at how much more organized you will be.

6. If you have extra time, go though your pictures (one month at a time) and delete all the bad ones, for example out of focus ones, moved ones, terrible ones, black ones etc. Now that we have the digital technology we can snap up to 200 pictures in a few minutes (if you don’t believe look at my camera when my son uses it) so it is important to get rid of all the bad ones and make space for the good ones. Also while you are going through your pictures you can make another sub folder inside each month and call it “The best of …” for example, and pick your favorite photos of each month and put them in that folder. You’ll be amazed that suddenly 456 pictures turn to be 15 best ones. Now it’s easier to take them to print, make digital scrapbooks or resize them and send them over email.

HAPPY CLEANING!!
Jennyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02160398499013929486noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8851567135758023394.post-9856130946147376372010-04-14T22:45:00.000-07:002010-04-14T22:45:52.671-07:00Inspiration ...It's been a while since I last posted. Many things have happened since then. The big one was the unexpected move. We moved to a different house and to a different city, and although we are still close to downtown, it feels we are in a different world.
I guess since we moved in January I've been trying to find my inspiration. It feels like it got stuck (and lost) in one of the moving boxes, and also this weather is not helping at all. Although it seems like spring might finally come soon =) (yay!)
But when I saw that Jessica Sprague had a Creative Team Search I knew I had to get back to work.
I love her store and her designers and it would be an honor if I could be part of their team ... (fingers crossed).
But back to the subject of inspiration, lately I've been thinking a lot about what inspires me ... well, this little person is my number one inspiration

This year has been crazy. Lots of things happening, good and not so good. Anyway, I'm so ready for this year to end and start a new one, all fresh and with lots of energy, hopefully in a new nice place (we are in the middle of house hunting and it hasn't gone all that good)

Anyway, I made this little Christmas card with Crystal's new December Kit . As soon as I got it I had to use it. I will be sending this as my Xmas cards to friends and family :) I love making my own cards, really don't like buying Hallmark ones, there's something so special about hand made.

Happy Monday and have a great start of the month!
I think it was 2 years ago when Jessica was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor. For the last 2 years she (and her family) have been living in hospitals going through so many procedures and chemotherapy.
I joined Jessica's facebook group and what amazed me the most was that no matter where she was or what she was going through she is always smiling ... always. She's such an amazing and brave little girl and every time I feel down because of life and stuff I just think about her and I smile, because I know she would be smiling.
Last night the doctors told her parents she only has a few hours to live. I think she is sedated so she is in no pain at all.
I started making a video for her that I wanted to give her in person but unfortunately I finished it today. I'm sad to think that I didn't have the honor to meet such an amazing little girl, but wherever you are now, dear Jessica, I just want to tell you that your smile will make me stronger whenever I need to be, that whenever I feel the need to complain or get angry or loose my patience I will think of how brave you were and I will smile too. Even I never met you in person I feel I know you and I will keep you in my thoughts.
First we had a great Halloween. This was really Kris's first one as the other two he was very little and didn't really got it but this year, oh boy, did he EVER got it. He kept running form house to house saying "candy, candy" ! and I had to keep reminding him that he was supposed to say "trick or treat"and "thank you" ... hmmm very hard for him to remember once all that candy was in front of him.
For example, he loves this red car from the move "Cars". He can't go to bed if he doesn't have it with him. Also he is very interested in trains. Every time he sees one he gets super excited. He loves the "zoom zoom zoom, we're going to the moon ... " song and laughs when I pick him up at the end of the song to give him a ride to the moon =) one of our favorite things to do when we go to the library for story time.
Also he looooves to take pictures. I guess he gets that from daddy who's always taking pictures. He loves to use my camera and takes pictures of everything around him. But I guess his ultimate favorite thing is ice cream. He's a super picky eater but as soon as he hears the word ice cream his whole face lights up and he would even eat chicken only to get a bowl of ice cream for dessert.
I made this little layout to remember all the important things in his life right now. All this will change as he grows up and all this little things that he loves right now will become just memories of his childhood.
I love you my sweet pea and I love to see you getting more interested in so many different things.
I've never used actions on pictures before so I wanted to try them and they were giving a free trial set. It turned out nice so I'm sharing it here. I might use them again :)
This time it was Chad's family we got to see. Last week we drove (yes drove) from Vancouver BC to Moose Jaw SK. For those of you who don't know it is 1,655 km (1,028 miles) or 19 hours plus stops. All that with a 2 year old... good times. We did it in 2 days and it was amazing and scary. Amazing because crossing Alberta (Banff) it is the most beautiful thing someone can do in their life. It's unbelievable. Specially at this time of year when the trees are starting to turn yellow and the mountains are covered with snow. Scary because of the snow. We hit a storm the first day and we couldn't make it to Calgary as we had planned so we had to stop at Golden BC. It was snowing a lot. The second day we had another storm just a few hours away from Moose Jaw and this one was really bad and super scary. The road was completely turned into an ice rink. We saw 3 big trucks on the ditch and several cars on the side, but we made it safe and sound. We were in Moose Jaw only for 2 days to celebrate Chad's grandparents 60th wedding anniversary. It was so good to see all the family again and get to meet the newest addition to the Galloway family: Cohen our first nephew. After those 2 days of family craziness we had to come back to Vancouver and make the trip all over again but we are happy that we got to see all of them and spend some time together even when it was so short.
Family is very special for me, being Mexican I grew up surrounded by my (very large) family. Since I moved to Canada it's been very hard for me to adapt to a life without them so every chance we get to see them it is a true joy.
Ok, now the story behind this picture. Camille (Chad's sister in law and second from R to L in the back) came up with the idea of us getting our picture taken at this shop in downtown MJ as our present for grandma and grandpa Wenaus. We had so much fun doing it, from getting dressed to the picture taken by a (I'm not kidding) 16 year old kid (super cute). Anyway, we got the photo, 1 big one for the grandparents and 1 small for each Galloway brother and family :)
Yesterday I was trying my scanner for a new project I have and I scanned the picture as a test. I just couldn't resist opening it on Photo shop and playing with it. I had a lot of things to do so I made this layout super quickly but I really like it so here it is. The 3 Galloway brothers and the families on a Thanksgiving weekend.
I am so happy I can't stop looking at them! Now I want to start handing them everywhere to everyone, good thing I got 1500 of them!
I have to thank my amazing Graphic Designer for the great job she did. We met once and from the very beginning she knew exactly what I wanted and did the design in no time. I've never worked with a Graphic Designer before, I usually do the designs myself, but this time I wanted someone else to do it, someone neutral and objective. I knew that I was going to spend hours and hours trying to make the prefect business cards and probably wasn't going to be happy at the end, that's just the way I am. So I had the chance to meet Lesia (from Lesia Design) and it was great to work with her. I highly recommend her not only for graphic design but also for web designs. I've seen some of her web sites and I am very impressed.
So here they are! Oh and she has a promotion for her customers in Canada.

squidkid.etsy.comJennyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02160398499013929486noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8851567135758023394.post-7352287362888929592009-09-27T12:06:00.000-07:002009-09-27T12:33:49.460-07:00This is Klipbook

I’ve been meaning to start my blog for quite a while now so I’m happy to finally make it happen!

I’ve been inspired by so many great blogs out there and every time I read one of them I just start thinking of all the things I would like to share, so here it is, my first blog with some of my thoughts, my favorite things, my loves and what makes me who I am.

To start I would like to share with you my two loves.
